Product Description
How long can the RIVER 2 power my appliances?
Run time≈256Wh*0.85/operating wattage of your appliances.
Can the RIVER 2 be used as an uninterruptible power supply (UPS)?

Can the RIVER 2 handle high-wattage appliances?
Yes. The RIVER 2 can power devices up to 600W with our proprietary technology, X-Boost. *X-Boost can run devices that require up to 600W, however, it's best to test before use.
What kind of solar charger can charge the RIVER 2 solar generator?
The RIVER 2 electric generator can be charged with type-c solar panel if there is a stable 5/9/12/15/20V 3A output.

- Reviewed in Canada on August 15, 2023Style: River 2 Portable Power StationVerified PurchaseI recently received this power station, primarily with the idea of using it on camping trips. However, it's turned out to be one of those unexpected finds that has proven useful in various scenarios.
What struck me first was the straightforward packaging. It's a welcome change from the overly elaborate packaging you often encounter. This might seem trivial, but it set a positive tone for my experience with the product.
It fully charges within an hour and it holds onto that charge when it's powered off. This means it's always ready to go.
It's lightweight and easy to move around, which is a big win when you need power in different spots. It's made my life easier in situations I hadn't even considered.
We wanted to test it out to see how much power we had so plugged in my laptop and a speaker, and it powered them both for over four hours. Last weekend we had a power outage at 9:00pm and rather than start up the big generator, we plugged in our internet and were able to watch movies. It's a lot more convenient.
I paid $200 CND, which I thought was a pretty good deal. It even comes with a QR code for setting up the app, which turned out to be easy. Through the app, you can keep an eye on the power levels.
While it does what it's supposed to, it's not completely silent when charging, but it's not a deal-breaker for me. Also, make sure to double-check the specs when you're plugging things in. You can't use it for everything. It's something to keep in mind.
To sum it up, the EF ECOFLOW Portable Power Station River 2 is working out great for us. Whether it's for camping or unexpected power hiccups, it's been handy. If you are looking for an alternate solution to a traditional generator, I would recommend paying more to get more power and more outlets but if it's for charging things while camping or simply having internet during a power outage this is more than enough.
Update Jan 17, 2025:
I purchased the EcoFlow River 2 Pro during a Black Friday sale and have been enjoying the longer battery capacity for weekends away at my off-grid cabin. It’s fantastic to be able to power more devices for a longer time, like my heated blanket, heated bed pad, and mini fridge.
That said, I still use my original River 2 regularly because its smaller battery makes it much more portable for everyday use. Both units serve different purposes, and I appreciate having them both in my setup.
- Reviewed in Canada on October 19, 2024Style: River 2 Portable Power StationVerified PurchaseOur Condo has a scheduled power shut-off. I decided to purchase this unit so my wife can have a light on, charge her devices and brew a coffee in the morning. It was an impulse purchase and definitely a shoot-first-ask-questions-later situation. The unit arrived and I was pleasantly surprised at its small form factor, light enough and small enough to move it to where it is needed.
This unit will not run a Keurig coffee brewer. It can handle 300w but a kuerig requires roughly 1200-1500w. (always ask questions before shooting!)
the unit did run a 60w floor lamp, our 15w router and charged lap top and a few other devices with no issues. with all these items drawing power from the unit it gave me about 6 hours of run time off a full charge.
the unit has the ability to efficiently switch from mains power to the power station with uninterrupted power. In the event of a storm where a power outage is in the offing, you can plug the unit into mains power, plug in your desired devices and if there is a power outage, you will have uninterrupted power. (no more searching for a flashlight in the dark!)
What impressed me most was the quality of the light from the table lamp that I had running off the unit. The light was bright and steady throughout the 5-hour run time.
While it was purchased solely for power outage situations, now that I have it, I realize there are a lot of use cases I hadn't considered.. We live in an older condo that was built without enough power sockets to supply all the gadgets required in modern life. It is very convenient to run a device when needed rather than swapping out devices trying to find an available socket.
It does have built in fans to keep the unit cool both when charging and discharging. The fan noise was not particularly loud. I had the unit running about 2 feet from where I was sitting. While I could hear the fan while running, I had to focus on its fan noise and didn't notice it when a youtube video was running across the room. It is very quiet indeed.
A great unit tht provides far more value than it costs. I am very happy with impulse purchase!
- Reviewed in Canada on October 11, 2023Style: River 2 Portable Power StationVerified PurchaseAs a portable battery pack this works pretty well. It charges very fast over AC, or somewhat slower (60W) over USB-C, but that does mean that in a pinch you can, slowly, charge it up with a cheap solar phone charger that supports PD fast charging. The AC output for this model is fairly low, but I knew what I was buying and it does a great job of running the things I bought it for during a power outage. Providing power for a medium-sized tablet, a smartphone, and intermittent use of a 75W heating pad, it seems to be good for 4-5 days. YMMV.
I took one star off because, while the default settings are usable, all advanced configuration needs to be done through a closed-source app (which probably depends on a cloud service that may vanish at any time), that I was not able to install on my phone (I have an Android emulation layer, but it's not allowed to access the Internet, and apparently that's a deal-breaker for this app that's supposed to just communicate locally over Bluetooth).
If you buy any EcoFlow LiFePO4-battery products, you should be aware that while the battery may well still be working 10 years from now, the app almost certainly will not.
Also, I had to check the manual to figure out how to switch it off (hold the power button for 3 seconds, but this doesn't work when it's plugged in). That's is not great user-interface design, but not worth taking off another star in my opinion.

Ampliamente recomendada!

5.0 out of 5 stars Solar charging is very unique
Style: RIVER 2+110W Solar PanelVerified PurchaseI ordered this setup to start looking at Solar for my home. As I didn't know much about it, I have learned a lot on it. The kit is a low output of average 100W. The amount of time varies with what you are using it for. The primary reason is to run my Starlink internet. But it is underpowered (not the fault of the manufacturer) to sustain 24/7. Starlink uses about 80 watts so this limits the time to run on a battery. But lesson learned for this kit it to do a bit of math and get the right unit. I will have a Starlink system running at a campsite with no power located at the site of Starlink system. This gave me the means to figure out what I really needed. The system is good for low power items. There is no claim that it will power a house. Its a good system. The solar panels are a bit clunky, but very portable. Came with everything that is needed to charge the battery system. I will note when plugged in 120V house, the battery unit charges extremely fast. On a bright sunny day, about 2-3 hours. It varried the few times I used it because of cloud cover, angle of the sun, etc. Most of the time it was charging at 100W or a bit more. Pretty cool and now be able to get my Starlink system at the campsite running without the need for a hard wired power system. I will note running a lamp at 50W draw lasted all night without issue. Run my 32inch TV for about 8 hours (25w draw). The system is a quality product and has good user manuals. Especially in the even it would catch on fire.

5.0 out of 5 stars EcoFlow River 2
Style: River 2 Portable Power StationVerified PurchaseI use my River 2 sinewave power station in my off grid shed for low power electronics, indoor light, and 40 watt spotlight with a 5 minute timer set. it works perfectly as intended especially when paired with 110w solar panel so its always charged up and ready to go in the future! Its a solid built device especially when used as designed to serve low energy devices. RIVER 2 has 256Wh state of the art LiFePO4 Battery and a method to rapidly charge in 1 Hour, that's incredibly fast against my older end of life portable power products. Another nice to have, River 2 also connects to an app via Bluetooth which means future updates and improvements. At the current time of writing this review, Jan 20 2023 At a price of $249 I'd say its a fair asking price for the level of features you'll receive investing in this unit. If sales promotions price dips to sub $200, id say that's incredible value and time to jump and that's exactly how I received mine. Undoubtedly this portable power station anyone can find a use; let it be located at your place of work or a gathering where AC power is extremely limited or not readily available to you.
First I'll address the size, its light weight and easy for anyone to carry or move. that's due to limited capacity but for two hundred and change in US dollars that's the going rate of LFE battery at about 1 USD to 1 watt hour. LifePO4 battery chemistry has been the answer to longevity over its big brother Lithium Ion that's commonly found in your smartphones. close to a decade of daily use verses 3 years on lithium ion. I don't know about you, the time it takes to charge is very important and that's incredible value this kind of battery chemistry! The app, is so easy to use. Go to the Appstore or Play Store: download the ecoflow app. Its so easy to connect no extra accessories to buy in doing so, best of all its free. It shows everything for power details at the ports. The only strange bug I've notice is if the low power devices under 14 watts don't show the power draw just the remaining power. Last, the small power station noise level is not noticeably loud when the fan comes on to cool itself down. A huge important over previous power stations especially at nighttime.
My advice, curb your expectations for use of this device. NO high end equipment, Its not used for your coffee maker, hair dryer microwave or small fridge. there are bigger models of ecoflow power stations to serve those needs albeit triple the price tag. 256 WHr isn't a crazy ton of power storage and it maxes out at 300 watt continuous pull with x boast feature turned off to keep sinewave protection for s. In fact when the inverter is powered on, the invertor function will consume about a quarter of the storage to produce 12v/5v and 110v power output. Best advice, keep the ports off in order to preserve its storage until you need it to serve it use!
last and important review is on ecoflow customer support. Now everyone experience can differ, mine was surprisingly great due to ecoflow support going above and beyond to make the matter right. Using amazon support I ran into a promotion offer for the additional accessory. At first Amazon supports message came with no empathy and the attitude of your mistake, sorry but your issue and please go away. after three calls for the same problem I was finally put in touch with ecoflow channel using amazon chat and email service. ecoflow was prompt to answer and worked on it to make it right. the delivery was fast at neck break speeds as we grown to enjoy and expect. Would I buy another product from EcoFlow, YES absolutely. Would I recommend, Absolutely assuming practical use came up in topic Ecoflow features in a small package is incredible. My only disclaimer is the life of the product. Although LifePO4 or LFE chemisty is a decade of use, I cant claim this unit will live up to daily use of this since its really new. Fast charge im sure will impact the life cycle, the mppt, charge controller and inverters are all failure points, however with a outstanding 5 year warranty, i'll happy believe ecoflow will be around for the next decade to deliver on that promise.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very useful and compact
Style: River 2 Portable Power StationVerified PurchaseThe ECOFLOW portable power station is a fantastic option if you need reliable power on the go. It’s compact and lightweight, so it’s easy to carry around, whether you’re camping, traveling, or just want backup power at home. Despite its small size, it packs a punch, with enough capacity to charge your devices or run small appliances. It’s well-built, charges quickly, and has plenty of outlets for different needs, including AC, USB, and DC ports. If you’re looking for something portable but powerful, this is a solid choice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great for powering 12v fridge
Style: River 2 Portable Power StationVerified PurchaseI bought this primarily to power a small 12 volt Vevor 16 quart cooler fridge/freezer. I was able to run it about 10 hours on a full charge. The 12v outlet supplied no-load voltage of 12.4, and supplied - steady 12.0-12.1 volts with a 45 watt load, all the way down to 0% battery remaining. I also tested the A/C output, and it was a steady 120 volts all the way down to zero battery. Very impressive. This unit is good for light loads. It is also fairly compact and lightweight. Charging is fast. You can also slow down the charging rate in the phone app, to extend the useful life of the battery. This size model fits my use case perfectly. The one thing I did notice is that if you use the AC inverter, it does significantly impact battery life. I tested it with a 66 W load, which in theory should give a solid three hours of runtime even assuming a 20% loss, and I only got about 2 1/2 hours. I think the new river 3’s that just came out have a much more efficient inverter. Next one will likely be a much bigger one to power larger items.
